Safe, fun & reliable
Pet care experience
I have worked in kennels, vet clinics and wild life rehabilitation centers for over a decade. There isn’t much that surprises me, and I’m always looking to help pets be their most comfortable happy selves. I love to keep a consistent routine with the pets I care for to keep them comfortable. We usually start the day with breakfast and any morning meds, a walk or more vigorous play time depending on their activity needs. Most dogs hang out with me throughout the day, cats occasionally grace me with their presence, and I enjoy a walk after lunch (weather permitting- these Atlanta summers can get a little toasty!). We end the day with dinner, some evening exercise and a quick photo shoot for mom or dad with the days update. My focus is on maintaining your fur babies normal schedule, whatever that looks like for you. I absolutely love behavior work and training so pups working on new tricks (or trying to break bad habits) are always a special treat.

Safety, trust & environment
I focus on preventing incidents before they have a chance to happen. I keep my eyes on the pets in my care and and the environment we are in. You won’t find grapes, xylitol or chocolate within reach of a nose and I make sure puppy curiosity doesn’t turn into puppy trouble. I provide regular enrichment to keep pets with mischievous minds from finding their own entertainment. While I do focus on prevention, I am certified in pet CPR (dog only) and first aid and my years in vet clinics and rehabilitation facilities have helped prepare me for anything unexpected. I don't care for pets in my own home with Rover. But I insure everything I bring (groceries for the stay, work bag etc) are pup safe
Information Jessica L. would like to know about your pet
Before I come take care of your furry companion I like to know what they are being fed (including treats if applicable) and what medications they are taking. If they have any behavioral or medical conditions I should be aware of eg. dog reactive, bite history, know abuse history, triggers, history of seizures or ureteral block (blocked cat). I love to get a “day in the life” run down of your pets normal routine and their favorite activities. If I am staying for an extended period of time I do request your preferred vets phone number. I’ve never had to make a call, but if an emergency arises it will be best to visit a veterinarian familiar with your pets history.
A typical day
I love to provide a variety of enrichment including physical enrichment like walks, fetch, and hikes, o breed specific occupational and mental enrichment like treat finding games, problem solving activities and reinforcing/training new tricks.

Availability
I am work from home home 4 days a week and pet care easily integrates into my daily schedule. I am early riser who loves starting the morning with a walk and slow breakfast, I usually take some time during my lunch break to work with dogs on new tricks, fun games, or extra walks if the weather is cooperative. I usually enjoy an evening walk after dinner as well. On days when I am in the office (Wednesdays) mornings and evenings are the same, we just don't have the extra break during lunch.
