I can assure you that your pet will be in the best hands, and here’s why: My Education/Knowledge - Completion of The University of Edinburgh’s Royal School of Veterinary Studies’ program called, ‘The Truth about Cats and Dogs’ which teaches students about pet needs, behaviors, and proper care - Below is my list of resources that I have thoroughly studied/read/researched to expand and sharpen my knowledge of dogs and cats - Code of practice for the welfare of dogs by the Department of Environment Food and Rural Affairs - Code of practice for the welfare of cats by the Department of Environment Food and Rural Affairs - Icatcare - Dogtrust My Experience/Qualifications - 32 5-Star Reviews here on Rover! - Have personally fostered 3 dogs and 5 cats over the course of my life - Have over 3+ years of professional experience as a pet sitter here on Rover - 12 years of personal experience caring for pets in my home (specifically, a rescue Beagle named Bailey, a Russian Tortoise named Nicole, and two playful kittens named Flash and Midnight) My Pricing My current rate is $16 per drop-in visit. I am looking to shift to a full-time role as a pet sitter, hence why I have set my rate to reflect my skills, education, experience, and dedication to giving all pets the best care possible. My Skills - Can quickly and effectively administer oral medication - Proper dog walking restraint, caution, and attention - Teaching dogs various tricks and skills - Can administer appropriate first-aid and exhibit quick responsiveness to any accidents or injuries - Experience taking care of a variety of ages: puppies/kittens, young, adult, and even senior pets

Jess is an absolutely amazing dog walker! She provides lots of photos, and I love reading her descriptions of their walks on the Rover Cards. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a walker!

Jessica was an amazing sitter, especially with my difficult, grumpy cat!! She sent so many great photo updates and I knew my pet was in good hands. I’d absolutely use her again—she went above and beyond.

Jessica went out of her way to create fun photos and lure my cat from hiding with treats. I am very happy with her work and how responsive she is. Highly recommend her!

What Sets Me Apart From Other Sitters I’ve heard so many horror stories from my clients about their previous experiences with other pet sitters! From ignoring the pet during the entire visit, arriving late, or even forgetting to show up entirely, I’ve heard it all! I can promise you 100% professionalism and will give your pets the best experience possible as if they were my own. I will show up on-time (most of the time, early, even) and will stay for the entire duration of the requested time. I have a well-diversified and extensive background in pet care including volunteering, fostering, animal adoption content creation, owning my own pets, learning through various education/research resources, and providing my services via Rover for over a year.

Information Jessica J. would like to know about your pet

For the safety of me and your pet, please be honest and let me know if your pet has ever exhibited any negative behaviors towards people that don't live in the home, especially strangers. This includes, but is not limited to, hissing, barking, growling, and other behaviors similar to these. Please also let me know if your pet has ever chased, bitten, or attacked another person before. If your pet has never been put in a situation with a stranger while you have not been home, please try to guess if any negative behavior has the possibility to occur. I had an unfortunate experience with a previous client who did not mention that her cat could exhibit any bad behaviors, and upon entering the home for the first time, despite my caution, I was hissed at, chased, and bitten. So, to reiterate, for the safety of me and your pet, please be upfront with any behaviors I should be aware about. Additionally, please let me know if there's any hiding spots your pet likes to go to. Back in my earlier days of pet sitting, there was this one drop-in visit where I couldn't find the cat for the first 10 minutes! I was freaking out! Turns out, he was just hiding in this little spot by the washing machine, as if that were obvious, haha. So, for the sake of my sanity, please let me know where I can look for your pet!

A typical day

What You Can Expect During Each Visit - I exhibit proper caution and awareness when entering and leaving your home including handling your key safely and protecting alarm info! - When I enter and leave a home, I do a sweep of the residence (going into rooms as permitted) to ensure there are no unusual disturbances or intruders! - I will make sure to turn on/off certain lights, open/close the windows, lock the doors, and turn on/off the alarm (per your instructions)! - Unlike other pet sitters who send 1 photo of your poor pet sitting in a corner (seriously, one of my clients told me this happened with the sitter before me), I absolutely LOVE taking photos of me and your pet together! I will send photos of your pet solo, your pet playing with toys, your pet eating, your pet drinking water, your pet moving around, your pet and me together, and…you get the idea. I’ll send you pictures of everything! I even send pictures of the areas I have cleaned/refilled such as the litter box and food/water station. I promise to give you at least 30 photos by the end of each visit. See for yourself! Take a look at the hundreds of photos I have listed on my Rover profile! - I will clean and refill bowls with fresh food and water during each visit (per your instructions)! - When your pet goes to the bathroom, I will immediately clean up the area and dispose of waste in the designated location (per your instructions). - I will exhibit caution and undivided attention while walking your pet outside or in the presence of other people or animals. - I absolutely love playing with pets and can assure you that your pet will be tired once you get home! - I exhibit unmatched patience and positivity in order to keep your pet entertained and ensure they behave appropriately.
