Jessie's Pup-Help

Pet care experience

My name is Jessie, and I started working for Rover because I recently lost my fur-baby Charli (a 90lb mutt) to cancer. My husband and I inherited Charli from a college roommate at 3 years old. She was the first dog I'd ever owned, and was the best thing to ever happen to me. At the end of her life, we made sure every day was the best day; filled with walks, treats, pets, and so much love. As she is no longer with us, I am really missing the company of a dog in our home. We live in an urban area on a quarter acre lot, but we have a fenced in backyard. We also live blocks away from the Theodore Wirth Parkway, which was Charli's favorite place to get some fresh air. The walking paths off of the parkway are perfect for long runs or walks with a pup, and there is a ton of green space for activities. In addition, if your pup loves the dog park, we live less than 5 miles from a great dog park. (In our house we call the dog park the "DP" because Charli got too excited if she heard us say the words "dog park'.) I believe I have a good sense of dogs' needs. Having a dog with cancer makes you aware of every aspect of their health and well-being. I will be able to tell if your pup has to go potty, wants a walk, is uncomfortable, or is wanting to play. I miss being able to take care of a dog with such care. I am currently going to school, so my weekends are not as exciting as they used to be. I spend a lot of time at home, hitting the books. Having a canine study buddy again would be great! I used to love taking Charli on walks or to the dog park during study breaks. I don't want to leave out the felines, but unfortunately my mother-in-law is allergic to cats, so we have to keep their dander out of our house in order to spend time with her.

Jessica was good at communicating and flexible with pickup and drop off times. I could tell that my pup was loved and had a great time staying! I will definitely be a repeat.

Jessica is definitely a dog lover and I know my dog was happy staying with her. She was also very good about sending me updates and working around my schedule.

Jessica was a great sitter for our dog, Tonka! She made him feel right at home with lots of cuddles on their couch and bed. Jessica sent updates with pictures of Tonka on walks and playing in her fenced in backyard. Just what you'd want in a pup sitter!

Information Jessica H. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know: - how well does your dog do with other dogs? - do they go to the dog park? - any special dietary restrictions? - are you working on any training that I could help with? - would you prefer the dog does not go on couches or beds? - how long of walks does your dog enjoy? I personally tend to prefer larger dogs, but I do not have any breed preferences.

A typical day

We will go on a walk almost every day (if thats what your pup likes)! We have a large parkway and pedestrian path system near our home where we will walk. There is also a dog park within 5 miles, so if your pup is into dog parks we will go almost every day. I usually alternate between walks and dog park trips each day.
