Holistic approach Cert Vet Asst.

Pet care experience

We all know animals respond to energy, and my mission is to create an environment where the energy for both and human and canine is balanced, enjoyable and fun. I firmly believe that what benefits our animal friends inevitably benefits us, and this dynamic leads to more carefree, stress free beings. I am a compassionate individual with a background in Applied Behavior Analysis, and worked for many years as a Behavior Interventionist for special needs children. About this sitter: -Over 5 years experience as an Self-Employed Dog Walker & Sitter -Background in Behavior Analysis and principles of positive reinforcement + technology of teaching. -Prevention First (punishing unwanted behaviors rarely, if ever leads to a change or end in those inappropriate behaviors) -Compassionate and a great disciplinarian -Fun, wise and sincere about the human/animal dynamic -Advocates for the voiceless -Passionate about nutrition and exercise -Backyard and peaceful neighborhood for your pooch or other beloved furry friend to enjoy. -Lived with and raised dogs my entire life. As long as I was able to walk and talk, I've shared my life with animals. -Certified Veterinary Assistant via Animal Behavior College. I'm comfortable administering meds and caring for sickly or geriatric pets. I have a holistic approach to animal care and strong interest in all healing modalities, homeopathy in particular. - keeper of a red eared slider. In addition, have cared for/housed gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, canaries, parakeets, newts, fish,---sea monkeys :D, many plants, and one very special Long-Evans Rat (he was a rescue...more on that story, if you'd like, upon request) -Have been mentored by some of the best Behavior Analysts and Interventionists in the field today. They imparted a very important skill set and philosophy of non-punishment, positive reinforcement and tailor made behavior regimens. I am focused on the human animal bond and respect and equanimity for all creatures. In addition, humane education is an imperative mission in my life. I am very much willing to administer medication as long as we discuss protocol for administration. I will be very thorough about what your pet requires, his/her veterinary history, and sure to do run throughs if administration of injections are involved. Animals, like children, deserve respect, guidance, structure, and fun in order to foster confidence and a stress free life (or at least forstering skills that impart stress coping). That said, thoroughly discussing your pets history is imperative to making our time together a rewarding experience.
