I just spent a year in Manhattan walking dogs for a mid size company. I was trained on how to use positive reinforcement techniques, how to handle emergency situations, how to help anxious dogs, correct dogs who pulled on their leashes, etc. I worked at a pet store before that and a different dog walking job upstate before that. I just accepted a position in a vet office as a receptionist but I still need more time with dogs!! I’ve worked with dogs of all different sizes and breeds from a toy poodle to a Bernese mountain dog. I grew up with a 70+ pound mutt named Sammy and also pet sat in high school for my best friend’s pit bull.
