I love all dogs no matter their size or temperment. Dogs just need to sense my vibes and will want to play and play, at least thats how I feel when I see dogs. LOL! I have dog, fish,chickens. I used to have a cat. Dogs always put a smile on my face any time of day. I currentl have a bichon friś he is a very old man, he wont be interfering with your dogs play time though. I do live on Myrtle Dr which has is a pretty good walk around Laurel all sidewalk. Newhall park is down the street which has a dog park and some gravel is that what you prefer for your dog. It is a short 5 min drive for your dog too which is always fun for them too.
