Pet care experience
I've worked in the veterinary field for 10+ years as a client services representative and veterinary assistant! I've also owned pets my whole life. As a veterinary assistant I was required to care for sick pets which includes walking, feeding, medicating them and assisting with various medical procedures (including surgery). Sometimes cuddling was the prescribed treatment as well! I have also fostered puppies for days to weeks at a time, caring for and training them. Not only am I educated and experienced in pet care and medicine but, I have experience with clients and providing excellent customer service. My #1 priority is you and your four-legged fur baby!

With over a decade of experience working on the veterinary side of canine care, Jessica has made the nourishment and welfare of all dogs a significant part of her persoanlity. She's also personally owned or lived with numerous breeds, ranging in size from beagels to St. Bernard's. Old ones, slow ones, yippy ones, zippy ones, Jess has seen them, dealt with them and truly loves them all. You couldn't ask for a better, more experienced or more enthusiastic pet partner.

In a client's home I would follow all specific instructions given to me by the client. If no specific instructions are left then I would care for the pet as if it were my own. This includes ensuring nothing is left out that the pet could get into and injure itself or make itself sick. I would monitor them to ensure they are not trying to get into trouble. Leashing at all times when leaving the house. Cleaning up after them to ensure a hygienic environment. Also, ensuring they always have water available and food when needed. I would play/walk them as required to expend their energy and of course provide love and attention during my entire visit.

Let me know if your pet has any special needs or behaviours that I should look out for. I have worked in the veterinary field so I feel confident in my ability to care for pets with specific medical needs. Do they have any physical limitations or a ton of energy to burn? We can adjust our active time to accommodate! Food allergies or specific food requirements is important as well as I may be (mostly likely will be) giving them treats during our time together.
A typical day
I love spending time outside with dogs. I have a few trails around the neighbourhood that I love to visit with my own. Of course keeping in mind the weather, there are a variety of trail lengths we can choose from. If your dog is working on training and has a routine or tricks they are practicing, I also enjoy working with them to stimulate them mentally.

Availability
I am a recently graduated teacher. Of course being the summer time I am not working in schools so I have full-time availability. Then during the school year, my day usually finishes by 3pm and I can make visits any time after that.
