Pet care experience
Note: Rover doesn't allow me to differentiate the weekday availability times from the weekend availability times. **Weekdays I am only available after 7 p.m. (work). Weekends I am available all day.** With over 27 years of working with Veterinarians, and being a lead kennel tech, I have seen & done it all in regards to caring for dogs. I have also volunteered at various Humane Societies, & did an internship at the Kitsap Humane society as a Dog Behaviorist. I have also worked one of my dogs in K9 Wilderness SAR in the early 2000’s. As a result of all this experience, I have worked with dog aggressive dogs, blind, deaf, handicapped, old, & young dogs. Currently I have a Great Dane mix, a Boston Terrier, & a Greater Swiss Mountain/ Australian Shepherd mix. Dogs ARE my full time job! Why would I ever do anything else? This is what I enjoy, and I would love to help you with your own furry friends; I live in the foothills of Ogden, so my access to miles of trails is literally at my back door!

I have two dogs that don’t do well in the heat. Jessica knows how to work with brachycephalic dogs, and walks them in shady areas with plenty of water. One dog is very high energy, and doesn’t know when to quit, so having her keep an eye on him in hot weather has been helpful. She’s also up for taking dogs on hikes when its not freezing or scalding, so if you talk to her in advance she’ll be able to work something out with Rover and scheduling. The dogs really love it, and it wears them out. Steve V
Jessica loves dogs, she has rescued dogs, worked with local search and rescue with her own dog, has studied the behavior of dogs and has a keen sense for how they will behave in any given situation. She would be perfect as a Rover.com walker because she would love her job and the dogs will love her guaranteed! Jessica's confidence with dogs influenced our getting a dog of our own, so glad we did.
She’s great with animals. Knows how to read their body language, is able to maintain control, and help during high anxiety situations. I have no doubts that she in her capabilities.

Meet and greets are very important. I like to know if a dog is aggressive before I meet them, as well as any issues they may have in regards to male/ female humans, including children. I will only walk walk spayed / neutered pets that are fully vaccinated. No exceptions.
A typical day
I walk dogs in the environment they are most comfortable. Some dogs enjoy the city while others prefer the back roads or trails. If you are interested in a trail walk let me know! (Weather permitting) I do charge a bit more for puppies as I work with them on basic leash manners when we walk. Puppies do need to be of an age where they are vaccinated. If your puppy is young I will do a drop-in visit, over a walk. They still burn plenty of energy this way, and learn a few basic manners in the process!
