Pet care experience
Cats, dogs, rodents, reptiles, and other creatures, you name it - I love them! Animals have been a passion of mine ever since I was a small, tiny little human. Rain, shine, or snow... I'm committed to providing phenomenal care for your pets! All tails (including the tailless) are welcome! In my downtime, I enjoy doing dog sports with my dog, Daisy. I also enjoy cuddling up with my cat, Pebbles, who is a master at causing chaos! I enjoy reading and studying animal behaviour, as well as attending professional development sessions where I can learn more about dog training! Daisy is currently a trick dog champion, and we have been slowly gaining our titles in UKC nosework!
Reviews

Jessica is the best of the best! Our kitties love her and look forward to her visits. It is clear through their faces and behaviour in the photos from each report card, that they are so happy to spend time with her. Jessica takes great care of our fur babies, we would always trust her to watch over them when we cannot. We truly look forward to each report card, it always makes our day! We will be sure to continue rebooking (this was our second time booking Jessica). Thank you for everything!

Jessica was amazing! She was very communicative, and both my kitties loved her. She made sure everything and everyone was taken care of. Loved having her here, thank you so much!

Jessica provides 10/10 care for our two kitties! Our cats clearly trust her and enjoy her company. Jessica provides excellent updates, is timely, and went above and beyond. We trust her with our fur babies and our home! We have already rebooked her for a longer visit and look forward to a carefree vacation without having to worry about our kitties.

I’ve lost count of how many times Jessica has taken care of my cats, but I can confidently say she always does an amazing job! Highly recommend Jessica to anyone looking for top-notch pet care!

Safety, trust & environment
Ensuring your pet's safety is my top priority, which is why I schedule complimentary meet and greets so I can learn more about your animal(s) prior to my visit! This helps me better serve you and your pet(s). I hold clear police record checks, and I am certified through the RECOVER Initiative for pet CPR. I am privately insured through PROfur for pet care and dog walking services, covering all domestic house pets, including dogs, cats, rodents, ferrets, rabbits, reptiles, fish, and birds. I treat all animals (and their homes) with the respect I'd like from others. Your babies will be treated like my own. I practice cooperative care and choice-based handling with all animals, ensuring that I give them the autonomy to engage with me when they feel comfortable doing so. I complete Rover cards for every visit, complete with photos and details of how your pets are doing. I'm flexible to help ensure the needs of your babies are met.
Information Jessica D. would like to know about your pet
Tell me more about your animals and I'd love to help out! From keeping up with training, providing enrichment, medications, and more! I will do my best to accommodate requests. I have taken several courses on dog training and have a decent knowledge base on behaviour. I feel confident with dogs of all sizes and breeds, including high-energy breeds. I absolutely adore cats and would love nothing more than to spend some time with your feline friends. I truly believe your body language and voice is the most powerful tool when interacting with animals! I'm comfortable using various tools such as gentle leaders, slip leads, martingales, and more, if your dog may need it. I also have experience with providing oral, topical, and injectable medications.
A typical day
To ensure a smooth booking and to maintain the well-being of your pet(s) in your absence, I have established the following recommended minimum care requirements: Cats: I recommend at least one 30-minute visit per day for households with cats. Households with four or more cats may require 60-minute visits to ensure all receive appropriate care and attention. Every other day may be an option in specific circumstances. Dogs: If you'll be gone for two nights, I recommend a minimum of four hours of care spread throughout the day for all dogs, regardless of size, breed, temperament, and/or age. There are many options in which this may be scheduled, for example, 8-9:30 AM, 2-3 PM, and 7:30-9:00 PM. I may require/recommend longer visits when necessary to meet the needs of individual dogs based on their age, energy, temperament, and medical history. I do not sleep overnight at homes or provide house sitting services. If you will be absent for three or more nights, I recommend boarding or house sitting services for your dog(s). Other pets: Animals such as rabbits, rodents, guinea pigs, and birds may require 60-minute visits to accommodate for bedding changes and interaction time. For pets such as fish and reptiles who may only require feeding and watering, 15-minute visits at a discounted rate can be discussed! **How do I put my non-cat/dog pet on Rover?** You can input your non-cat/dog pet as a "dog" when you create their Rover profile. Within the breed field, type in "other pet". Feel free to input the species and your specific care instructions in the "about your pet" section.
