I never like to leave bad reviews, but I didn't really have an alternative choice. My wife and I were planning a family vacation and needed someone to come and house sit to watch our two dogs for two days. We used the app and booked Jessica for two days. Jessica was friendly when we met and seem'd to have an understanding of what we wanted. On the day of our departure I left a detailed note about our dog care and instructions for after she leaves in case she had accidentally forgotten what was needed. Half way through our vacation I received an updated from Rover on "Jessica requested changes to your booking". Jessica went ahead and charged us an extra day for both dogs, almost a $40 up-charge. I didn't quite understand the charge, but since I was out of state and had limited service I approved since I'm new to this and didn't want my dogs unwatched. On the last day we needed her, we asked that she leave a key under the mat for my brother. When my brother arrived there was no key under the mat and when he had to enter through the window he found that my dogs were loose in the house. We had requested that if she were to leave for an errand, she were to put the dogs in the crate or leave them outside not loose in the house. Since she charged me for the extra day, she must of thought she would have an extra day of house sitting and left her phone at my house. But my brother was there a couple house before she even came back and returned the key and retrieve her phone. I understand there must of been a misunderstanding on her part, but with the Rover booking app details, my outlined note and my unanswered attempt at a refund for the unnecessary extra day up-charge, it made it hard for me to leave a better review.
