Pet owner, lover, and supporter!

Pet care experience

I've had multiple dogs in my life, beginning when I was 4. Currently I own a 5-year old Anatolian Shepherd/Red Heeler mix with allergies, sensitivities, and special socialization needs, which makes me uniquely qualified to deal with special cases that require calmness and consistency with diet, care, and training. Previously I had a black Labrador retriever, then two Newfoundlands whom I cared for for 5 years. Owning these dogs has given me experience with different breeds, temperaments and learning styles, as well as allowed me to expand my knowledge of nutrition needs for my canine companions. My sister accompanies me on my Rover works, and has had near the experience I have too. She has always been a calm and compassionate person with a love for animals like me.

Jessi has checked on our pets several times over the last few months. She has even been able to drop by on short notice. She has been so helpful and our dogs like her, too!

Jessie is a great person to work with! She is very professional and communicates really well. My dog was completely happy and comfortable during my absence. Jessie is a sweetheart and is highly recommended!

Jessi came on time and super friendly and helpful. We needed to go to a company's event on a Friday night so didn't really have time to walk him right when we get off from work. We decided to hire Jessi for helping us out that day, and our dog Kota did great. He had a LONG walk ;D if we ever need someone to take Kota out for a walk we will def. consider Jessi again.

This was my first time using rover.com and I was so-o nervous about letting a stranger spend a weekend at my house with my reactive dog! But Jessi came over for a meet and greet and I knew it was a good fit. Jessi sent me pictures throughout the weekend so I knew Dottie was safe and not getting into any trouble; she wore the dog out playing with her so much and took lovely care of my home. I am new to the state so she even helped me find a new vet. I couldn't ask for anything more! Thank you Jessi - you were absolutely wonderful!

Information Jessi S. would like to know about your pet

I have absolutely no preference when it comes to breed. Purebred, mutt, little, giant, or anything in between is great! Before sitting a dog, I would like to know a few things about their personality (what the owner deems to be their most outstanding qualities), how they (the owner and the dog) prefer their pet to be handled (calm and quiet, exuberant and high-pitch voice, anywhere in between, etc.) and if the dog has ever shown any signs of aggression towards people/other animals. I am fully prepared to deal with a dog that can be aggressive, as long as I know beforehand! Safety and health is key, to both myself and the dog!

A typical day

I am more than happy to play with the dog as much as they desire! I also enjoy working on training and teaching new tricks, as well as reinforcing new ones with treats and praise. Grooming is an important daily activity, and I have plenty of experience with brushing and enjoy it. Baths are fun, too, if the owner and dog would like. Or if the dog is laid back and just wants snuggle time on the couch, I am more than happy to oblige.
