Furry and scaley pet care
Pet care experience
Hello, my name is Jessa! I've had animals my entire life, from dogs and cats to snakes and turtles, and I've been pet sitting for friends since 2016. I'm comfortable handling moderately reactive dogs, thanks to my experiences training my own reactive pound puppy over the past 3 years. I understand that dogs and cats have their own personalities and needs, and I love getting to know every animal I meet so that I can best fulfill their needs. Finally, I love all animals and I am comfortable caring for less furry pets, including snakes, fish, lizards, and frogs. I am experienced in handling reptiles and amphibians when necessary and I know how to feed with crickets, worms, and the occasional mouse.
Reviews
Jessalyn was great! Our dogs have already asked about when she will be back :) It was very easy to coordinate and meet and greet before our first visit. We have an older blind dog and she was patient and great with her! We are new to the area and happy to have found someone to help with our dogs.
Jessalyn has a deep love and respect for animals and dogs are certainly no exception. She is very patient with even the most frustrating animals and has had plenty of experience caring for animals of all shapes and sizes. She has been trusted with everything from hundreds small, rare woodland Salamanders in a lab at USF to an absolutely massive 120lb German Shepherd. Every animal under her care is well attended to and happy to see her! She is a very responsible and trustworthy individual that you can 100% rely on for your pet care needs.

Safety, trust & environment
When visiting your pet for drop in visits or walks, I'm comfortable walking up to two or three dogs at a time. I am also happy to supervise play time in your yard or at your community dog park. I am able to adhere to feeding and medication schedules and I also have experience caring for diabetic animals. I have cared for amphibians in a research setting and have cared for my own reptiles for 6 years. I am comfortable feeding and handling all scaley or slimey pets as well as furry companions.
Information Jessalyn A. would like to know about your pet
Let me know ahead of time if your dog had any special needs (like medications) or behaviors I should know about. I am comfortable playing with and walking moderately reactive dogs, but it helps to be prepared before we gear up for a walk! Please also let me know about potential triggers or fears your animal may have so I can do my best to help them stay as stress free as possible.
A typical day
I'm comfortable going on long walks around the neighborhood, hikes in nature preserves, or having play time in the neighborhood park. I also enjoy using puzzles and games to give your dogs brain a workout. With cats, I'm to engage in active play time or even just a simple cuddle for the couch potatoes.

Availability
I'm currently a graduate student on my summer break, and I have a great deal of flexibility in my schedule. In between feeding and caring for my dog, cat, snake, and fish, I have plenty of free time throughout the day for walks and drop in visits. I am also able to work on relatively short notice.
