Here for your pet when you're away!
Pet care experience
I am a lifelong pet owner and sitter of all varieties - dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, chickens, parrots, bearded dragons, geckos, you name it! I love animals and have some professional experience working in the exotics and wildlife ward of the Washington State University veterinary teaching hospital and am currently a wildlife biologist, so I'm comfortable giving meds - whether oral or injection. I live in Spearfish and would love to meet you and your pet(s)!
Reviews
Jess was great with communication and very flexible. Rex loved their yard and her dog was friendly.
Izzy was happy and relaxed when I picked her up. She enjoyed her time with Jess. Thank you.
Jess was great! She was detail-oriented and spent time playing with our dogs. She was great to talk with and cared about our dogs!
We met for a meet and greet- appreciated the flexibility to scheduled a time.

Safety, trust & environment
We do have a toddler in our house (2.5 yo), but she is good around animals and never left unsupervised around any animal (even our own). I also currently have a 13 year old dog named Scout, 6 year old cat named Lola, and 1 year old cat named Patrick. With an appropriate introduction before the stay, I'm happy to board dogs at my home where we do have a fenced back yard. I am also very happy to come visit your pet at your home, take them for walks, or just provide them with some company while you're away!

Information Jess G. would like to know about your pet
Generally, I like to know what kinds of things your dog likes to do so I can plan how we'll spend our time. I also like to know if there is anything your dog doesn't like (e.g., vacuuming) so I don't do anything that might make them nervous. How they are on leash, around other animals, and kids. Essentially anything useful for making sure I'm the right fit and can take the best care of you pets!
A typical day
Much of this depends on what your dog likes, but we have a rope toy for tug as well as Frisbees and tennis balls to play fetch in the backyard. I avoid walks when it's too hot or cold because we do only have sidewalks and roads to go on walks around our neighborhood, but if it's a nice day we can also go on walks around the neighborhood.

Availability
I work at BHSU and usually have a fairly flexible schedule. Right now mornings, evenings, and occasional afternoons are open, but for Fall 2022 I do have an additional teaching load making me just a bit busier than usual. I'm usually around on weekends as well.
