I've had dogs and other animals around me almost my entire life, so having them around is not only comforting but is also just a familiar feeling. My own dog, Opal Bean, just joined my family last year, and is still just as crazy and energetic as ever. Before her I had a Dachshund-Terrior mix, Maggie, who was absolutely sweet as can be and although she was tiny, she thought she was the protector of the family. Sadly, Maggie passed away. I've had many other dogs too, of all different kinds- size, color, energy-throughout my life, and have built many different and special relationships with each one of them.
