I can practically speak dog!

Pet care experience

I've worked in pet care for years since coming to Idaho. I've been in kennels, clinics and pet grooming salons and I have all the skills and experience necessary to care for, train, and understand your dogs. As my headline says, I can practically speak dog. (please don't ask me to prove it by barking, it would be embarrassing for all of us!) $5 off the grand total if you can tell me the breed of dog in the pic of the dog version of me without looking it up! Honor system rules apply. Here is a hint: it is a puppy! (not a great hint, I know, can't make it too easy)

Jeremy has a special way with dogs and really cares about them. He's kind, considerate, responsible, and loving. I absolutely trust him with my animals and highly recommend him.

I once saw Jeremy, while at a beach, walk up to every single last dog owner he could see, ask about their dogs, pet their dogs and love on the dogs. He has worked with dogs for several years and understands them to a degree that I wish I could for the sake of my own dog. If we did not live in separate states now, I would not only let him watch my pup, knowing full well he would maintain her training and schedule, I would go out of my way to have him do it.

I do not have a fenced in yard and as such I will always walk any dogs I may board on-leash. I do not live alone, however, and there are two other dogs here. They are very friendly with other dogs and as such I would ask that any pets I board would be good with other animals and not aggressive. Otherwise, I would please request in home pet sitting. In the long run, this would likely be more comfortable for your beloved pet anyways. My biggest priority is first, safety. After this is then genuine fun and appreciation from me to you and your pets, and from you and your pets to me. One final important note: Due to my experience working in dog-related facilities, I know and have access to many individuals in the veterinary field on a personal level. This is important as I can almost always readily get information to help keep your pet safe, even and especially in life-threatening events.

Information Jeremy H. would like to know about your pet

In order of importance, my personal safety has to take priority, I do have a son to come home to after all! Please let me know of any aggression issues, no matter how small they may seen. If nothing else, I have done a lot of training with animals, particularly dogs, and I may have advice. Another point for personal safety is if your dog has a little work to do on manners. This includes but is not limited to: running into people in pure unadulterated enjoyment; jumping up to get loves and lick faces; pulling on a leash because the next sniff is just ahead; and scrambling at all cost to get that crumb of food that just fell on the ground! (All of these become even more important with bigger dogs!) Dog safety is also a top priority, so let me know if they have a disposition to be left alone while eating, to enjoy their space, and if they have any medical concerns such as seizures or hurting limbs/joints. I have even worked with dogs that have been trained for border patrol service, blind dogs, and dogs with aggressive tendencies. These are all important factors to disclose before meeting your pets. Finally, let me know how they are with other dogs. I will usually jump on the opportunity to get even more socialization time for my dog, Ultron, but only if it's safe for every person and every animal involved. I can still care for pets even if they are not good with other animals.

A typical day

A natural place to go and have fun and burn off energy would be the local dog park. I have lots of experience with running dog playtime with as many as 20+ dogs at one time. Naturally, a dog park with less than 10 ever at one time is much easier! Aside from that, a fun trip near some water for any pets that enjoy some swimming time and if it is approved by you, the owner, on that particular day's adventures. A walk around the town making friends or just getting out all the sniffs can be a very fun past-time, especially if the adventures take us to a coffee stand for some puppercinos (also upon owner approval). For elderly dogs or dogs with special needs, I can make any number of adjustments needed to have a fun time while still being safe and conscientious.
