UPDATE: As of November 2017, I am home full time as I no longer work outside of the home. Our dogs and kids love having us home even more. UPDATE: As of December 1, 2015, I will be home more as I have left my full time job and will just be working part time at our vet clinic. We will offer doggie daycare on my days off, dog walking any time, and more services to meet your needs. ------ My husband and I live on a farm in Chatham County. We own 4 dogs and 2 cats, as well as many farm critters. We have been very active in animal rescue for over 10 years. With that experience comes a vast knowledge of dog behavior and training. We have experience with many different breeds, backgrounds, and personalities but are especially well versed in herding dogs. We are opening our home to your pets so that they can experience love and fun while you are away. At our house, they will be a part of the family. We have crates and baby gated rooms, dependent on the need of the individual dog. Our house is set up so that we can separate dogs if they don't get along, so that isn't a problem. We have a large fenced in area for play time. Though, dogs are not left outside unattended. Generally, our dogs like to hang out in the living room on one of the many dog beds. We will send updates with pictures while you are away so you know your pet is being pampered. Please email us for any questions. Why I love dog sitting I have been a dog lover all of my life. I started begging for my own puppy as a toddler and have had a dog ever since. I volunteered at animal hospitals all throughout my childhood. Went to college to work with animals. I was a vet tech. petsitter, and animal care specialist at pet stores while in college. I started rescuing dogs 13 years ago and have had foster dogs in our home continuously since then. We would like to take a step back from rescuing dogs and put our energy towards helping owned dogs feel safe and loved while their owners are away. Meet my pets We have 4 dogs, 2 cats, and many farm critters. About my yard We have a very large fenced in back yard. We built the fence ourselves with 3 horizontal boards (like a horse fence) but secured it with chicken wire so that nothing can come in or out of the fence. We have a large deck that the dogs love to lay on and sun themselves. My experience administering medication Yes. I was a vet tech for years and administer medicine to my own pets now.

This was first time using Rover and I am so happy that I did! Jeremi and family were great with my German Shepherd. She was very well cared for, and I received text message updates throughout my trip. Five stars, highly recommend!

We do not have any breed preferences but would prefer the dog to be safe with cats and kids. If they are not, we can still have them in our home behind baby gates which is better than a kennel.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks We live in the country. We have a long driveway and then a beautiful stretch of road that winds through horse and cow farms. If this is too much stimuli for your dog, we can take them through the path in the woods. Where we live there is always a beautiful path to take. Your dog's sleeping arrangement That depends on the dog and the owner's request. We provide crates or freedom of our living room. Again, all dependent on the individual dog and owner request. Time I'll spend with your dog Depends on the day. We do work full time and leave all the dogs in the house while we are away. When we are home, our dogs are wherever we are. Our dogs (and our guests dogs) are a part of our life. We play outside or relax in the house.
