Pet care experience

I am really more of a dog nanny than a dogsitter. My pack rarely exceeds 6, and all the dogs are regular clients who know each other very well and enjoy playing together. I provide a stable, predictable environment for dogs who need a lot of attention. I have a soft spot for dogs who are shy or anxious, and need time to adjust to new settings. I'm very patient with them, and I love getting to that moment when they decide I am safe. I am particularly experienced with northern breeds such as Huskies and Malamutes. But there is a good variety of other breeds in our group.

Jeny is great with my pup! My puppy is super anxious and Jeny has taken a lot of time and effort to ensure that my pup feels comfortable and safe at her place. She takes the dogs out so they get plenty of exercise which is wonderful! She also provides lots of pictures and updates so I am reassured my pup is loving her time with Jeny.

We rescued a nervous 10mo old great pyrenees mix about 7 weeks go and although I knew he would benefit from continued socialization with other dogs and people, I also knew he needed a very specific person and environment to help him actually thrive in a daycare setting. I was SO happy to meet Jeny and her pack! We met for a meet and greet and were able to positively work through dog introductions and talk openly about his specific needs. She immediately knew how to care for him and was excited to help him thrive. It was clear that she had deep experience with dogs to know how to approach his care. Graham loooves other dogs but can be reactive on a leash and can get possessive of food and toys. Jeny's home environment and individual care style worked wonders for him and she was able to set him up for success from the get go. In her care, he could just focus on dogging better and making friends because he had Jeny looking out for him. She sent me great pics/video of him playing with her pack and it honestly made me a little teary eyed. To see him playing and walking with the other dogs in her pack was really special. He had a fantastic day and I was both grateful for Jeny and also really happy that Graham found a special place where he can thrive, feel safe, and get continued socialization. I've worried about our pup since we adopted him but didn't worry at all the day he was with Jeny and her pack. Couldn't ask for a better dog nanny!

Meeting Jeny has been a gift for our family! We have a highly anxious Husky who was having a hard time with walkers/sitters/daycare because she was so afraid of new people. Jeny assured us that this is normal for some dogs and was willing to spend extra time with Hoshi to gain trust and make her comfortable. Jeni and Hoshi have bonded beautifully! Hoshi’s anxiety continues to diminish and she is blossoming into a confident dog! Jeny takes her pack out to run and play every day keeping them active and safe. Personally, we have learned so much from Jeny about how to care for Hoshi. We have also been able to travel again knowing that Hoshi is being well cared for and loved, giving us peace of mind!

We are so happy to have found Jeny! We’ve wanted to try daycare for our husky mix Rocky for a while but couldn’t find one we thought would be a good fit until now! We wanted the option for Rocky to interact with a small consistent group of dogs and have the chance to go on more adventures and Jeny offers just that! Jeny is very easy to communicate with, listened to all of our concerns, and took a lot of care when introducing Rocky to the other pack members. Not everyone understands husky characteristics and needs but Jeny certainly does and was great at picking up body language of Rocky and the other dogs. She sent plenty of pictures, videos, and updates throughout the day which made us feel very comfortable. Rocky had a great time and we look forward to brining him back! ?

Safety, trust & environment

I can provide basic first aid in case of minor injuries, and I have an excellent track record for keeping dogs safe and out of mischief. In addition to Rover's insurance, I also have a private pet sitting insurance policy. A few fun facts about me... - Caring for dogs is my second career. Until 2015 I worked in software development as a UX researcher. My graduate work was in Educational Psychology and Industrial Design. I loved UX, but I needed a change. Working with dogs is completely different, but you might be surprised just how often my psych research background comes in handy for figuring out their behavior patterns and teaching them new skills. - I'm also a knit designer. It's a hobby, but I have a decent following. If you happen to be a knitter, and if you've heard of Jeny's Surprisingly Stretchy Bindoff... well, I am that Jeny. Google it if you're curious! Information Jeny S. would like to know about your pet

I would want to know your dog's basic food and exercise routine, any medical needs I'll need to accommodate, and any habits or triggers I'll need to watch out for. I am highly skilled at mitigating behavioral issues like jumping, dominance, overly assertive herding, and reactivity.

A typical day

Most days we drive out to a public secured area in North Bend for our off leash exercise. I also have access to several private properties in Redmond and Duvall. If we are hiking or snowshoeing, dogs may be on or off leash, depending on the ordinances for that area and depending on the reliability of the dog's recall.
