About Me: I grew up in Northern Virginia before heading north to Boston University and then across the Atlantic to earn 2 masters degrees in London. Since moving back to the area, I have started my own business archiving family histories. My favorite part about working from home is getting to spend the day with my rescue pup, Darcy! Dogs and Me: I am a lifetime dog owner and lover. Growing up with Golden Retrievers, my passion for dogs started early on. I was the kid that would ask to stop and pet every single pup we passed. Now I'm grown up and married with my very own fur-baby. We adopted our mix-breed puppy Darcy in January 2016, when he was 4 months old. If you ask me, he was named after Mr. Darcy of Pride and Prejudice but if you ask my husband, he was named after a famous Irish rugby player! Darcy was rescued from Puerto Rico and had a hard time adjusting to the blizzard-y conditions of Virginia in January, but he's relishing the summer heat! He loves to play with his doggie cousins - my parents' rescue Jake and my sister's Border Collie Bella - and doesn't mind being chased around by our young nieces and nephews. He is friendly with all humans and dogs he meets and is up to date on all his medications and shots. At home he loves to cuddle and is very good at finding the sunniest and comfiest spots to nap. He is working on his manners, having just completed obedience class. He has made the house our home and I can't imagine life without him! I have experience with dogs ranging from 10 to 100+ pounds and from puppyhood to senior. Let me know if your dog has any special needs and I will be sure to accommodate them!
