Dog Walking is Life!
Pet care experience
I’ve lived my whole life with pets. From childhood dogs and birds to cats as a college student, to family dogs, cats and even rats. My children have now grown into young adults, so my pets are my babies. I’ve been volunteering at an animal shelter at least 2 hours every week since August 2021 as a dog walker. I walk all dogs from 10 pound littles to 100 pounds of pure muscle. This shelter experience has taught me an incredible amount of dog behavior and exposed me to many dog personalities. I have been a fitness coach for 24 years and love being active and outdoors. Walking dogs allows me to experience all those passions together.
Reviews
Jen has been walking our rescue dog twice weekly and has been absolutely great with him. He has some behavioral issues with leashing that makes walking difficult, especially being in a condo but Jen has handled him great! He loves getting out during lunch and she updates me on any issues and what he did (pictures included). Always on time. We will be using Jen for as long as we can!

When it comes to pet care, I like to keep their routines very consistent and reward good behavior with treats. Positive reinforcement is the key to gaining trust and having a happy relationship. Having to hire sitters for my pets (2 dogs and a cat), I am very specific about their schedules and particular habits or needs because I want them to be as comfortable as possible with someone different taking care of them. All 3 of them are very much a part of the family, getting a lot attention and rewarded with lots of treats for good behavior.

Any specific behaviors like dog reactivity or fears. Do they walk easily on a leash, need a harness, want to chase cars or squirrels? Are they treat motivated?
A typical day
I love to take dogs on walks in the neighborhood and play tug of war and fetch with them. I also love brain games such as nose play to find treats.
