My dog found me, of that I am convinced, wasn’t looking for him, never had a dog before, but on an impulse I agreed to foster him for two weeks. Two days in, I was ready to throw in the towel, missing Pilates to let out a dog was a total inconvenience and a drag. Ten years later, I can say that dog, Bug, has been such a gift and an absolute blessing. I knew I loved him the first time I saw him run, fast and took turns low to the ground like a motorcycle on a tight curve. He keeps me present, active, and on my toes. I don’t ever want to have regrets that I didn’t show him the love and gratitude I feel for him. Love is an action. We walk, go to the dog park, he goes to doggie daycare, I teach him tricks, etc. I tell him thank you every day for being in my life. Probably brings me peace of mind more than anything. Sometimes life gets busy, and we can’t do it all. It’s ok.
