I've had dogs in my life since I was nine and love them. (Doesn't everybody say that?) In high school and college, I worked in a veterinarian's office as an assistant with hopes of attending vet school. (Did you know how hard it was to get in? I didn't.) While working as a microbiologist at Duke, I formed a dog sitting business and had several clients. Unfortunately, I moved to Alaska and couldn't bring them with me! Additionally, we recently lost our beloved Goldendoodle, Bailey this past January to a rare disease, coonhound paralysis. We're not ready to get another dog to love and I feel this is a great way to get some doggie love on a temporary basis. We have young kids who love doggies (or goggies, as Teddy says) and if your dog is definitely proven not good with kids, we probably wouldn't be a good fit. I do however, have methods to separate kids and dogs if there is an issue. I also have an old cat who is good with dogs, but again, if your dog is not good with cats, it won't be a good fit. We have a great setup with 7 acres of land. I will not take your dog off leash in our yard, but we can go out often. Let's give it a try! I think it could be great. Update: We now have a dog! He's part polar-bear, part Great Pyrenees.
