Pet care experience
I became a pet sitter simply because I believe that animals deserve the as much love and compassion as possible, and it’s my job to give it to them! My goal is simply to bring as much happiness to pups and owners alike! I love being able to bring a smile to a dog’s face, and giving owners peace of mind is so fulfilling as well. That’s why I can’t wait to meet you and your pup! Although I’ve been a lifelong dog lover, my experience with dogs is quite extensive as well. Firstly, I have been a long-time volunteer at the Tacoma Humane Society. I have always loved volunteering there, as it gave me a chance to help animals in need out. Not to mention that it was great training! They taught me so much about providing great care to animals, which I take with me to every booking. In addition to being a volunteer, I also have lots of exposure to animal training techniques and have learned a great deal about working with animal behavior! When taking on a new client, I typically like to schedule a meet-and-greet. It’s a great way to make sure that we’re all a good fit for one another, which is so important to me. Likewise, it gives us the opportunity to chat face-to-face about your pup and your care expectations. No one knows your dog better than you do, so it’s always great to chat with owners in person about what makes their pup tick! Finally, I just love meeting new dogs! I like to get down on their level to show them that I’m a welcome presence here to make friends, and I’m sure we’ll be best buddies in no time at all. Communication is the heart of every great booking! When your pooch is under my wing, you’ll be kept in the loop on everything we do together. Animal safety is my number one consideration, and it’s my job to keep owners informed. I’m always happy to take notes on anything from meal prep to exercise times to make sure that you know how your pup is doing! Of course, every check-in will have accompanying photos so you can see just how much fun we’re having together! A bit about my schedule: I work Monday-Friday from 8-4. There is some flexibility in my schedule (come in late or leave early), but please note that if I'm caring for your dog during the week, I may be gone for up to 8 hours of the day.
Reviews
Jennifer has been Sheba's favorite pet sitter for years now! Always a happy pup when she returns back home :)
Jennifer is very reliable and communicates well.
Jennifer is very dependable and great with updates and pictures. I had a last minute trip and was luckily able to count on her and know Willow was taken care of.
Jennifer was wonderful. My dog loved her stay; settled in quickly and felt at home.

I will stick to your schedule for your dog while they are with me as best we can. I like to know how your dog feels about other dogs, strangers, or any other personality quirks to make sure I am vigilant in keeping them safe while we are together. I will never take your dog off leash anywhere without clear permission from you and after we have established a bond (generally after we've had 2 separate stays together at a minimum). Please note: There are 12 stone steps to get to/from my apartment, if your dog has significant mobility issues we can discuss if I am the right fit for you. If you have any other safety or environmental concerns I am happy to discuss with you!

Information Jennifer M. would like to know about your pet
Some things I like to learn ahead of time: - Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay? - What’s your preferred method of communication? - Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? - Do you have a vet nearby that you trust? - Is your dog spayed/neutered? - Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening? - What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid? - What’s the best way to spoil your pup?
A typical day
There’s no limit to what we can do together! I believe that a healthy dog is a happy dog, and I love being able to accommodate even the most hyper dog’s needs. From getting out and about and meeting new friends to just cuddling up on the couch together, I’m here to make sure that your pup has everything they need to be happy. I love to explore the neighborhood with a dog in tow, and even make jaunts out to the dog park as well! Whatever your pup needs, I’m game for.

I have a flexible work schedule; I generally go to the office (a 10 min drive away) on Tuesdays for 4-6 hours and otherwise work from home, so we have all the time to hang together, take walks when needed (especially if your doggo is on a specific schedule), and take play breaks!
