The tiny NYC apt I grew up in was full of animals that we’d rescued. My arms and heart were always full of someone warm and furry and abandoned...Kim, Alice, Ernie, Esmeralda, Rufus, Onesimus, Tigger, Smudge, Mini and Max... I brushed German Shepherd Kim outside and loved watching fluffy clouds of her fur float down the street. Fiesty Alice and I walked down every street in SoHo, and Ernie needed extra hugs during thunderstorms. Esmeralda was small and white and told me secrets when I held her up to my ears. Mini, Max, Rufus and Onesimus were all rescued as babies and fostered to strapping adulthood. My availability: early morning Tuesday and Sunday (I’m up at 4am!), Wednesday evening after 4pm, and all day Thursday.
