Pet care experience
Hi! I would love to help your furry friend feel at home. My family has 2 high energy, dog loving kids. We recently lost our best boy, a super social 5 year old hound mix named Gunny. Gunny loved other dogs and was happy to host all of our doggo sleepovers. In his honor, we'll continue to welcome guests into our home. We love to go for long walks and trips to the dog park. On rainy days, your friend can relax in front of the fire and lounge on the couch. If your puppy fetches, he'll make these two kiddos so happy. I live close to Piney Wood dog park and close to the American Tobacco Trail, so lots of outside play is guaranteed! I don't generally travel during the holidays or during the summer.

We treat your pet like family. It's important for you to know your pet is safe while you travel. I will follow your directions to the letter, will ask questions in order to help me learn more about your pet's personality, likes and dislikes and will keep you updated about the stay each day. Even if your pet is off-leash trained, we require leashes for outside time, as an extra step in keeping your loved one safe. If we have more than one dog staying at a time, they are fed in separate spaces.

I always like to ask about routines, food aggression, where your pet sleeps and any unusual fears. Over the years, I've had pets that were afraid of everything from dental floss, balloons, ceiling fans and the sound of text messages. It helps to know ahead of time if your pet has any unusual fears so we don't accidentally scare them. I also like to know if there's anything your pet especially loves, so we can make sure to do those things.
A typical day
Weather permitting, we go for at least one long walk a day. This is typically 30-45 minutes and can vary depending on your pet's energy level and ability. During the weekends, we often times load up and head to Jordan Lake, Umstead Park or the Eno for some hiking. We love to explore nature as a family and your pup is welcome to come along, if it's something they'd enjoy.

I'm currently working from home through the middle of July. My children will return full time to school on July 19th and I anticipate being back in a 9-5 out-of-the-home routine after that.
