Pet care experience
I personally own two dogs, a large-breed Newfoundland and a mixed breed mutt who I have cared for since she was a pup eight years ago. I have owned dogs my entire life! If it’s a farm sitter your looking for I own and care for a herd of goats, chickens, a sweet barn cat and rabbit. While I no longer own them, I have also raised pigs, ducks and geese.

We have a home nestled on 9 acres that my dogs just love to roam! A tiny creek that flows through the backyard and we are within walking distance to a lake and pond if your pup enjoys dips in the water as well. My dogs are socialized but my female can take a minute to warm up to new dogs. We have measures in place to separate parts of the home in the event your pup gets overwhelmed or feels outnumbered and wants a spot to relax unbothered, our living space is upstairs and we have the steps blocked by a large handmade gate (remember, I said we had a Newfie!) we want your dog to feel relaxed and have a great time while you’re away!

We do not have any breed preferences but do ask that your dog is welcoming of other dogs and children. We also have farm animals so please inform us if your pooch has a prey drive (like ours does) so we can make sure everyone has a safe and fun time when outdoors!
A typical day
We love being outside with our animals and children, and have a unfrequented dirt road we love to take walks down. In warmer months we take walks down to the local beach area for dips in the water and even meet other dogs there - perfect for socializing.

Availability
I am a stay-at-home homesteader, so pet care is what my day consists of! I’m up at 6:30 each morning to get all my livestock are fed and watered. When the chores are done, the rest of my day is typically wide open.
