I got my first high-energy Boxer when I was a year and a half old. She became my first sibling, before any human siblings were born. Since then, I cannot imagine life without one. I am currently "in-between" Boxers and am available to care for other people's fur kids. I rarely refer to canines as "dogs" as I see them as integral family members; same is true for cats. In addition to Boxers, I've raised and (competitively) shown dogs (Weimaraners), rabbits, and sheep. I am accustomed to large and/or very strong dogs and am comfortable walking them using proper collars and leashes. I have always sent my Boxers to "camp" when I had to travel and subscribed to the "extra care" packages, so I am very cognizant of the entertainment and interaction needs and am happy to provide that. I live one house from the bay and 7 houses from the beach and have 3 designated parks within 100' of the house. I find this to be even better than a yard, as most "dogs" that I know don't want to be placed in a yard; they want to be with the humans. I live with one other person, the son of a reputable area-veterinarian, who spent the bulk of his youth working in his dad's animal hospital. (As a result, he became an expert cat and dog bather.)
