Active and energetic, passion for caring for dogs.

Pet care experience

I have had dogs my entire life and began to dog sit for friends and family eventually doing paid work looking after dogs as well as overnight sitting and walking with a range of breeds. I have taken care of 10 dogs at one time and enjoy playing with them and catering to individual needs. I have experience with rescue dog and cats as well as puppies and dogs 50+ kgs. I have been housesitting with animals for 2 years now whilst in England and travelling

Jennifer was brilliant and took such good care of my dog. My dog is naturally very energetic due to his breed and Jennifer handled it really well and wore him out somewhat with plenty of play and fuss. Jennifer also kept me informed throughout the whole period… definitely peace of mind. Thank you!

Jenny was absolutely fantastic, she looked after our 9 month old border collie for the day (dog sitting at our house) and we came back to a very happy boy! She felt caring towards him immediately and we felt happy he was in good hands, thanks Jenny!

I have an 8 month old Red and White Border Collie pup with my girlfriend, and Jennifer is the first person we ask when we have to leave the pup at home. We trust her entirely with her both in the house and out on walks too. Better still, the dog loves to see Jennifer too which is fantastic! Jennifer is brilliant with our dog and I would highly recommend her!

I ensure to have a conversation with the owners to ensure I am fully aware of the dogs individual needs such as dietary requirements, medications and physical activity preferences beforehand. I have also been looking after peoples homes for 2 years now so always make a top priority of keeping their homes and pets safe and cared for. In addition to this I ensure I am aware of the dogs limits within the house, areas they aren’t allowed to be in and what they enjoy to do during the day and where they are most comfortable sleeping. When sitting multiple dogs I ensure to have a written list of which dogs can eat and sleep near each other and those which are best kept apart during that time to ensure they are all safe and comfortable.

Information Jennifer C. would like to know about your pet

It is important to know their boundaries, where they like to be in the house, what their behaviour is like especially when on walks, for example if they prefer not to interact with large dogs. It is important to know their commands and what they respond best to. How often then are fed and allowed to be treated, how they would prompt me to know when to go outside for a toilet break. Their medication needs and what their favourite toys and sleep routine is like. Whether they are allowed off the lead, have a collar or harness and where this is found in the house.

A typical day

Always dependent on the owner and dog needs, but a typical dog sitting day is feeding them in the morning, if multiple dogs, this is prepared the night before, then lots of fuss, toilet break and ball throwing until time for a morning walk. Take them to a local park where they are comfortable and familiar, i prefer big fields and parks away from roads and cars but local on lead parks are also great. Once walked dependent on needs, I wash them or just dry paws and then encourage a sleep afterwards. Playtime in the afternoon until an evening walk if required followed by the evening feed and encourage calm time or some play dependent on the individual dog. I will also send lots of puppy photos!
