I grew up with numerous pets- dogs, cats, 21 chickens, 2 ducks and a bunny. Love for animals is in my DNA. As an adult I’ve raised two dogs from puppies. My first, Amelia, lived a happy and extraordinarily long life (17years) for her breed (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel). When she passed in 2021 I got my Australian Shepherd, Jedi, and she has taught me a whole new level of iron-clad patience and creative caregiving through her clever, loving and mischievous ways. Raising these two very different doggos makes me uniquely experienced with a wide range of dog behavior, from sweet and shy to raucous and reactive, and I’ve handled it all with love and a positive reinforcement approach. I am also mama to a 3 year old cat named Gary, rescued from the big island in Hawaii. He is a snuggly boy with a love for his dog-sis and an unusual obsession with the fridge’s ice maker.
