I’ll Watch When No One Else Will

Pet care experience

Got a large “difficult” dog that doesn’t get along with other people and/or other dogs? I’ve been there! For 12 years, my husband and I owned an Anatolian Shepherd who was the sweetest girl to us but, let’s just say, she did her job well in protecting us from perceived threats. I know the struggle to find someone that will take the time to form the bond of trust needed for a successful dog-person relationship. I will take that time. Additionally, my years of personal experience have left me well-versed for all size dogs in all stages of life and all temperaments. Throughout my 42 years, I’ve had the greatest privilege to have a dog. As a child, I always volunteered to sleep with our new puppy and take it out to go potty at all times of the night. As an adult, my husband and I have taken 3 puppies through training, raised them into adulthood, and seen them through their senior years and into doggy heaven. Through this cycle of life, I have known what is involved in caring for puppies, active juveniles and adults, and senior dogs with medical issues and what I call “old dog belly”. I also spent time as a dog walking volunteer at the San Diego Humane Society and as a volunteer at Wild Wonders, a wildlife sanctuary in Bonsall. I know and will do what it takes to make your puppy pounce with happiness and obedience, your active adult dog to grow tired through play, and your senior dog to be the most comfortable and most loved. If desired, I can also spend time training your dog by using the techniques I learned while taking our past 3 dogs through training, including: waiting to be invited into the house, stay, sit, come, roll over, walking nicely on a leash, and waiting for a command before eating. I am very active and enjoy working out and being outdoors. I can take your dog(s) walking, running, to the beach, to the mountains, to the desert, or wherever we can find adventure. Let me alleviate your past struggles to find that one person willing to win over your dog’s heart. Or to just be the person you can count on to give your dog the same care, love and attention that you would. I look forward to welcoming your dog into our small family!

Jenna is the most amazing dog watcher I have ever had. She puts her whole heart into making your dog feel loved and wanted. Lots of fun pictures daily from their walks all over town. She is a very busy dog mom so you need to book early. Your dog will love you if you board with Jenna! My Saint cannot wait to get back soon with her.

Jenna was AMAZING with our beagle/fox terrier Honey. I received many updates and pictures of their adventures. Honey had a great time! Jenna knows how to make dogs happy. Honey even laid on her to cuddle. Jenna has a perfect home and yard for pet sitting. She spent every moment with my needy mutt. Honey came home happy and exhausted from all the fun! I highly recommend her wonderful service!

There are not enough stars to give Jenna a proper review. She is THE best! We have a very large and needy dog and while visiting the area we were able to leave him for the day (3 times) with no worries. Jenna took him daily for walks, and then cuddled with him when he needed it, took him outside for naps in the sun when he wanted, took him back in the house for naps on her couch when he wanted, etc., In other words she spoiled him like we do. We received updates and pictures throughout the day and that was so reassuring. We are already planning repeat trips to the area and will definitely look to Jenna to provide day/overnight care for our big boy!

I do not have any other pets and will not watch dogs from other households when I have your dog(s). I have a large yard that is entirely enclosed. We also have two gates to enter our property which allow vehicle access without the risk of your dog running off the property (close one gate behind the vehicle before opening the other). The only access into my house is via stairs, but, if this is a problem for more senior dogs or those with limited mobility, I can pick them up to come inside. Most of the interior of my house has a tile floor, therefore I am not afraid of any “accidents” occurring and easily can and do keep the area clean. Circumstances will vary regarding where your dog will sleep. I have different options and will adjust based on your dog’s needs and wants. Your dog will never be left alone or unsupervised while under my care. Your dog will be wherever I am and I will adjust depending upon what your dog needs and wants. I am open to and encourage (but do not require) a meet and greet before our first boarding session just to place your mind at ease.

A typical day

I do not have any other pets and will not watch dogs from other households when I have your dog(s). I am flexible in doing whatever your dog needs or wants. If you have a senior dog, I am good with just showing him/her some love and chilling out. If you have an active dog, I will match his/her activity level and provide a challenge. One of my favorite places to go on walks or runs is Lake Calavera because it offers trails that can either take you past a lot of people or trails where you are not likely to see anyone at all. If you have a skittish dog, I can introduce him/her to different situations and environments and teach him/her that the world is not so scary. I would love to work with your dog on the training techniques that I have learned and appreciated as a dog owner.
