I cat-proof my space anytime a new cat arrives. My apartment has a lot of windows so I clear some of the sills so they can get optimal bird/people-watching time in. I modify anything I think could cause potential problems like tucking my Pothos vines up out of reach and clearing my floor and space of any small objects etc. I also make sure they feel cozy in the new space. I know some cats like to hide at first so I try to show them they are safe here by checking in on them and making sure their food/water etc are close by. I always respect their boundaries by letting them warm up to me in their own time and I think that's the best approach because they always do- and fairly quickly! :) I ask that you bring your cat's litter box+ litter +scoop, food bowls + food, and any toys/beds/items they like to have. I do not have cat items here that are shared between cats. If your cat has a contagious illness you must disclose this information to me.
