Pet care experience
I grew up on a small farm with 8 dogs, tending and caring for many kinds of animals. My family does dog training/shows & agility and luckily I have learned some handy techniques! I love cats too and believe they all have their own special personalities. I have extensive volunteer experience and work well with both animals and people. I work hard to make sure your pet is comfortable, cared for, safe and happy. It's my pleasure to work with you on your pet's maintenance of good habits like training, exercise, or just attention & cuddles. In-house care means attention to you and your pets needs will be my first priority, as well as maintaining cleanliness and security of your home. When with me, your pet’s companionship will be both my privilege and focus. I truly love animals and love getting to know each one I meet. I look forward to meeting you & your pet friends! Fun fact: I even sew dog/cat bandanas!

Thank you, Jen for the frequent updates and pics of our pups. We could tell how well you took care of them by how relaxed they were when we got home. And we really appreciate the follow the next day to make sure we were home.

Jenaya took great care of our senior cat while we were gone. Our cat, Eva, got lots of brushing, love and play time. We appreciated that Jenaya checked in regularly and that she left a detailed note for us when we got home. We feel like Eva was in good hands. Many thanks for enabling us to have a worry-free getaway.

Do they have any special quirks, likes/dislikes? Does the owner have preferences on where the pet can be or go in the home/outside? Is the dog leash reactive or have any issues with other dogs, etc (eg: bolting after cats/squirrels, doesn't like other dogs sniffing them, etc). So long as the dog is not aggressive, a repeat "nipper" or bites, then we should be fine. I truly believe if you get to know a dog you can usually read their body language or energy surrounding their comfort levels.
A typical day
Depending on the activity level of the dog, I'm happy to stroll through the neighborhood or park, or go for a hike or have some serious play/go-fetch time. I own one couch potato dog and one high energy/needs-a-job dog, so I understand each pup’s needs are unique. We can work on learning tricks or manners, enjoy favorite toys or treats, take a walk/hike (swim in the summer), or enjoy some one on one attention at home. My job is to keep your pet safe and make sure they’re having a great time until you get back.
