Veterinary Professional Cares -Dogs

Pet care experience

My name is Jen. I have 25 years of experience in dog care. I have worked in general and specialty veterinary practices as a veterinary assistant for a combination of 18 years, dog daycare facilities for 4 years, and in home boarding for 20 years. My husband and I thoroughly enjoy taking care of all breeds and ages of dogs. We enjoy sharing our home and our four legged fur kids with our guests. We live on acreage, so all the dogs get plenty of exercise in our fenced dog field under supervision. We encourage our potential clients to visit prior to your pets stay. We want you to fill completely at ease on your vacation while your furry friend is in our care, Why I love dog sitting Dogs have always been in my life since a small girl. It wasn't until my young adult years while working in veterinary medicine that I became very involved in extracurricular activities with my canine kids. About my yard Our dog yard is cedar chips bordered with wide sidewalks on the inside perimeter (so dogs can not dig out) next to a 6 foot cyclone fence. For our outdoor enthusiasts, this dog yard has 3 attached huge individual runs, each one having there own indoor/outdoor access into our temperature regulated dog room. We feel fortunate to have these super comfy accommodations with scenic outside views available for SOME of our guests. Our dog field is 1 acre fenced with 5 ft field fencing. This is all grass. The dogs are only in the field for exercise under supervision. This could be any where from only 10 minutes up to 60 minutes depending on weather My experience administering medication I have worked in veterinary medicine for many many years, and administering medications is absolutely no problem.

The owner seemed nice enough. Not sure how much exercise or attention dogs were given. The owner also didn't answer texts very well, received no pictures, and explained it due to being busy with family.

Jen did an excellent job taking care of our Casey! She was very careful when introducing the dogs and also made sure Casey ate only his prescription food and treats. Casey is somewhat anxious about being separated and Jen went above and beyond to help him feel comfortable and calm during his stay. That gave us so much peace of mind when leaving him. We will definitely look forward to having him stay with Jen again sometime. Thank you Jen!

Bruno stayed with Jen for over two weeks and he looks in great health and happy. All his belongings and sheets came back clean and smelling great, as so did he! Thanks for taking care of our pup!

I'm too tired to write an extensive review as I am currently undergoing a long distance move. Jen was super friendly and did a great job watching my two dogs!

Information Jen Z. would like to know about your pet

My concerns for caring for other people's dogs is simple...I want their family member to be as happy and comfortable in my home as possible. I would like to know about their personalities, their likes and dislikes, what activities they do with their furry friend, and what can I do to make their stay with me the most comfortable for them. I do not have any breed preferences. I enjoy all the breeds, and prefer to care for all, and feel lucky to learn different breed mannerisms. I find dog behaviors very interesting, and proves to be very entertaining as well.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks The dogs do not go on traditional walks, due to their runs in the acre field. If walks are a priority for my clients, I can definitely make that happen. I prefer to drive my dogs off the property and walk at Rood Bridge Park. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Our boarding dogs will sleep in our home where they will be the most comfortable and safe. Depending on the dogs needs and comfort level, they may sleep in a crate or exercise pen. We do not leave the dogs loose at night in the home due to safety issues. Time I'll spend with your dog My husband and I feel strongly about giving each dog one on one and group time with the family. We spend most evenings at home hanging out with our dogs.
