Hi, my name is Jen and I am a dependable, friendly, and experienced horse, pet, and farm caretaker. I am looking to see if there is any community interest in horse care services that I can provide within a 20-mile radius of Bernardsville, NJ. Ideally, I would have a small group of regular clients whose horses I care for on a weekly/regular basis and during vacations. I have 20 years of experience working with and riding horses of all disciplines and demeanors. I am part of a professional management team at a large scale horseback riding facility, which I have been with full-time for 10 years. I also have worked part-time with an equine vet as an AAEVT certified technician for the past 5 years. Horses are my life! I have a special affinity for donkeys, rescue horses, and seniors. Services that I can provide for you and your horse(s) include but are not limited to: - general grooming only (curry, brush, pick all 4 feet, brush mane and tail, inspect for wounds/injuries, treat minor scrapes and skin conditions)- $16 per 15 mins, $25 per 1/2 hr - bathing $25 per 1/2 hour - clipping, mane pulling, body clipping- $18 per 15 mins, $30 per 1/2 hour - handgrazing and/or handwalking- great for seniors that need attention and TLC, and for horses that are rehabbing- $16 per 15 mins, $25 per 1/2 hr - farm sitting Check-ins (water, hay, feed, turnout, pick up stalls, etc.)- $18 per 15 mins, $30 per 1/2 hr Overnight- $90 per night (can include care for other animals as well including dogs, cats, birds, goats, sheep, cattle, etc.) - wait for and assist with veterinary appointments for your horse ($25 per 1/2 hr, add $50 per visit for emergencies- please give the vet my number to confirm appointment times with me) - assist with veterinary treatments for acute or chronic illnesses- change wound dressings, give oral medications, bandaging, administer ophthalmic medications, etc.- $18 per 15 mins, $30 per 1/2 hour - go to the tack or feed store for you Local stores include: Coach Stop Saddlery, Bevals, Dover Saddlery, Tractor Supply, Somerset Grain and Feed, Belle Mead Co-op, Horseman's Outlet- prices from $16-$35 round trip depending on mileage (Please arrange payment for supplies in advance with the store) Prices are listed by time, not the amount of horses or animals. My current hours of availability are: Sundays: 7am-9am, 6:30pm-9pm Mondays: 7am-1pm Tuesdays: usually after 4pm Wednesdays: free all day usually Thursdays: 7am-1pm Fridays: 7am-1pm Saturdays: 7am-9pm, 6:30pm-9pm I have my own grooming equipment that I would bring with me, all of which would be disinfected after leaving each farm. I would send you a photo update/text after each appointment with your horse to let you know how he/she is doing. First things first: I would like to set up a New Client Consultation with you at the farm so that I can get acquainted with you and your horse(s). It should only take about 20 minutes. During the consultation, I would like to collect any medical history and behavior information about your horse that will help me better cater to each individual and get detailed instructions from you about their usual care. If you are boarding at a farm, please confirm with your barn manager or owner that it is ok for me to be there to care for your horse. If possible, please schedule him/her to meet with me when I come for the consultation or leave me with a list of barn rules/hours and any waivers that I need to sign. Thanks for your interest!
