I’m a Veterinary Assistant!

Pet care experience

My day job is at an animal hospital where I’m a part of the medical team. Also I have over 600 hours of experience walking and training dogs as a volunteer at a local animal shelter. With that experience I’ve learned how to manage all sizes of dogs with all types of behavioral issues I including aggression and anxiety. I’m available before and after work as well as during lunch breaks for walks, potty breaks, and playtime. I’m also able to house sit all dog sizes and breeds (love them all) and I canbpard small dogs who are ok with a chill cat (named Emma). I am able to give medications, trim nails, give baths, express anal glands, etc. I also will send text picture updates if owners want me to!

Jen was incredible with our dogs. She gave us updates consistent with what we requested, provided pictures of the dog and kept a detailed record of their walks. I would recommend her to anyone.

There's smart and then there's animal smart; Jen J is both. She not only understands how much our pets mean to us, she knows how to give them the tender loving care they need in our absence. I've been an animal person all of my life, so it's a rare and wonderful thing when I meet someone who "gets" animals like I do. I would humbly admit that Jen is extraordinarily gifted in this department, well beyond the curve. If this fact weren't obvious in the relaxed yet diligent way she approaches caring for my dog Woods and two cats, Zeb and Zorro, it's more than obvious in the smiling, adoring look on Woods's face as he wags himself into a pile of wiggling fur when she comes to our house, or Zeb rubbing his face on her legs, or Zorro (who is normally shy) purring and trying to get in on the action. That really says it all! But I will add the fact that she works in a very highly-rated veterinary clinic, has a beautiful relationship with her own dog and cats, and is just an all-around bright, reliable, and kind person. I'm totally confident in Jen and give her my highest rating.

There are a lot of dog sitters out there. And then there's Jen. To start, Jen is an exceptional and authentic person. Add in an experienced and naturally talented pet person and that's Jen. Jen has cared for English lab since puppyhood, She's now 5. In our family, for better or worse, our dog is a daily priority. Jen recognizes this and handles her in the same way we do. There is never worry if Jen is around. In fact, we had a medical crisis with our dog two years ago and Jen's support was invaluable. To this day, if our lab even catches a glimpse of Jen the result is nonstop wiggles and joy. I would be more than happy to answer any additional questions you may have.
