Hi, I'm Jen. For more than 10 years, I've volunteered with dogs (all sizes and personalities) at a large animal shelter--walking, playing, feeding, and loving them; cleaning their kennels; and doing other shelter tasks such as laundry. Additionally, for more than a year, I've been volunteering at a second, smaller shelter, this time caring for cats (giving them love, cleaning their cages, feeding them, and keeping the shelter clean). I also have experience providing in-home pet care (daytime walks and feeding as well as overnight stays). I have training in reading animal body language and providing fear-free care and handling. I strongly believe in using only positive reinforcement and correction. I'm currently employed as a college professor, and am on campus just two days a week. I don't currently have any animal companions of my own (my landlord's not an animal lover), but I'm looking forward to being best friend to your best friend(s) while you're away.
