Pet care experience
Hello! My name is Jen and I'm an animal lover of all breeds and sizes. I have experience with special diets and administering oral medication to both cats and dogs. I have cared for many senior pets as well! I've also cared for guinea pigs, hamsters, a leopard gecko, and fish. I have a car and can easily get to a veterinarian’s office if needed. I’ve worked for two different animal shelters in various roles-everything from hands-on medical care to fundraising- so I have a good deal of animal care knowledge. I have a Bachelor’s in Marketing from DePaul University and have worked in both the for- and non-profit sectors in many client-facing roles--so I am a people person, too!

We couldn't be happier with the exceptional care our three dogs received from Jen! She went above and beyond to ensure they felt loved and comfortable while we were away. The regular updates and pictures she sent us provided peace of mind and allowed us to enjoy our time knowing they were in great hands. We came home to a clean house and very happy pups! Jen did a great job watching my senior dog while I was out of state. I was able to relax knowing he was in good hands. I got plenty of photos of him enjoying his staycation with Jen. He seemed very happy with her company. I would definitely book Jen again in the future!

While caring for your pets, safety is always my number one priority. I will carefully follow all of your instructions and I will never leave your pet(s) outside unattended. I understand basic dog and cat body language and can sense fear, prey drive, and over-stimulation. Cats will always remain indoors and dogs will never be let off-leash unless you have a fenced-in yard. I will gladly provide updates via text message (photo and video) as frequently as you'd like. I will follow your pet’s needs in regards to their specific interests and energy level. I’m happy to play fetch in the yard, work on puzzle toys inside, or snuggle up on the couch-making the visit the most fun and comfortable for your pet is my goal!

Availability
My schedule is fairly flexible as I am in the start-up phase of a home-based culinary and baking business. Starting in the Fall of 2023, I will be taking one class at College of DuPage on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, and would be away from the home for about 4 hours. Otherwise, I would not be away from the home for more than an hour or two at a time.
