Former vet tech obsessed with dogs!
Pet care experience
I grew up with dogs, and started volunteering at my animal shelter at 12 years old. My field of study at Cornell was animal science and I was a vet tech throughout college, as well as working in a barn and researching canine hip dysplasia. I then worked at PETCO for 5 years. In short I am obsessed and love dogs!!! I am comfortable administering oral, topical or other medications. My experience as a vet tech included caring for litters of baby puppies and kittens as well as adults, from bottle feeding, vaccinations, medications, and other TLC. I did a lot of pet sitting on Rover while living in California, and took the last few years off to care for my elderly dog that recently passed away. I only take ONE client/dog family at a time, unless YOU specifically ask or tell me otherwise.
Reviews
Jen was great with my dog and sent so many updates and pictures. I would definitely have her watch my dog again and know that she is in good hands!
Jen was amazing with my dog Henry!!! She sent so many pictures and was very communicative! She made Henry feel right at home! Will definitely come back!
I'm always thankful any time Jen is available, and I don't see how that could change.
Jen was great with Whiskey! Whiskey is a nervous dog and she handled him perfectly. Jen was responsive and gave several updates with pictures throughout the day. I would recommend Jen to anyone who needs a dog sitter! Thanks Jen!!!

Information Jen C. would like to know about your pet
I love all dogs and cats. I am able to work with animals that have medical or behavioral issues, however please be upfront in advance with any special needs your pet has. The more detailed you are, the better we set each other up for success and a stress-free stay. For example: -Are they good with other animals? All people? Men, women, children? -Are they afraid of anything? What is their reaction? -Have they ever shown aggression, and in what circumstances? -Do they have accidents? Under what situations? -Are they destructive? What do they like to chew? -Do they have separation anxiety? How severe? -Are they barkers? -Do they free roam or prefer a crate? -How long are they accustomed to being alone? -What medications are they on? How do they react to meds? -Are they on a special diet? Can I supply my own treats? etc.
A typical day
Depending on your comfort level, I can take your friend on multiple walks a day, and play games such as fetch. Lots of belly rubs and scratches and cuddles! We have a yard to play in as well.

-I’m currently remote so I have time for pet care! My pup Cass recently passed after 13 years and we are not ready to adopt just yet. -I am a former vet tech very experienced with all different medication types. -I only take one client (or client family) at a time unless you specify otherwise. -I am able to provide pick-up and drop-off services in a private vehicle in addition to those listed. Pick-up/Drop-off is an additional cost that ranges depending on your location, whether I am using my vehicle or public transport, etc. The base rate is $25 each way but I may increase that for locations further than my default radius. *unfortunately due to congestion pricing I will need to add a flat rate to make up for trips into Manhattan* -I do leave the house for small increments during sittings to take care of things (gym, dinner, groceries, etc). If you require CONSTANT care, aka, your pet cannot be unattended throughout the stay, my rates will be adjusted to reflect that.
