Pet care experience
I have owned pets(dogs) my entire life and volunteered briefly at the animal shelter in Munster IN in 2015. Currently have a rescued pit/lab mix which was adopted from the Munster shelter and also care for a 19 year old Schnauzer with Diabetes. I prefer medium to large breed dogs but I am not opposed to a smaller dog. I have walked my own dogs as well as dogs at the animal shelter for longer walks as opposed to a short time span/distance walk. I try to walk my own dogs for a minimum of 20 minutes or more each day. I did get a book on Labradors after I got a chocolate lab some years ago and the number one cause of death is heat stroke so I realize in the summer that I must be careful as far as long walks go.

A typical day
To parks or in neighborhoods. I can also swim with your dog but would rather not until I have walked your dog numerous times. I have regularly swam with my lab and current lab / pit mix in Lake MI at the dog beach near the Hammond Marina. This does require allowing the dog to go unleashed which I would not feel comfortable doing with someone else dog who's care I am responsible for until I get to know the dog over time.
