Jeff and I are roommates in a 3 bedroom house. Our third roommate has the third bedroom, and also has a dog. This third roommate of ours loves his dog, yet he is sometimes neglected when it comes to potty walks. The third roommate owns his own business, and has been known to be gone for up to 16 hours before. It’s not that uncommon for him to be gone a full two days either at times. And this third roommate feels his dog can hold himself until he gets home. Jeff totally disagreed with this, and when the third roommate was at work, after about four hours of being in the house would walk the dog. And they were a good 30 minute walks. And he would continue to walk the dog every four hours until the third roommate came home. He then had me take a dog walking shift. And as friends would come I over, he would assign them a shift as well There were plenty of times that the dog would run out of food, and Jeff would go buy it so the dog did not go hungry. All the while Jeff never even told the third roommate about the dog walks or purchasing the food. When I asked him why he did not say anything, he said there was no need to. He wasn’t looking for recognition, or to be paid, he just felt that to make this dog wait that long to go to the bathroom was inhumane, and that a dog is all about going on walks. So he was happy to see that the dog was happy and well taken care of.
