Full time pet care provider!

Pet care experience

I’ve taken care of dogs and other furry friends since I was 7. Many of my friends and family have entrusted me with taking care of their pets. I have dealt with a wide range of dogs, no matter the age, size, or breed. I am capable of handling more than one dog at once and have had hands on learning when it comes to reading animals body language. I have trained puppies as well as had a senior dog who needed to take meds of a strict schedule. I also currently have a special needs cat! I absolutely love doing this and the animals I work with. It brings me joy everyday and I can’t imagine doing anything else.

Jeanette was awesome! She asked great questions about how to best care for my cat, kept me updated with the report card and photos, and was very prompt with communication. She took excellent care of my cat and I would definitely book with her again in the future!

Pet care differs from pet to pet but somethings remain the same for all pet care. Making sure pets have fresh water, feed when needed, potty breaks, and of course most importantly love and attention. Walks - depending on your animals needs walks can look very different. Some dogs like the same routine and route everyday while others want to just smell the whole world (or at least the whole neighborhood). Animals are keep on leash the whole time unless in a fence in area such as a park. I keep a close eye on them to make sure they are not getting into anything they are no suppose to and to keep them as safe as possible! I try to avoid busy roads if at all possible to keep animals safe as that is my number one priority. Drop ins - depending on your animals needs drop ins can look very different. Some animals are couch potatoes and so I let out to use the bathroom, and the rest of the time is filled with lots of loves, cuddles and attention. On the other hand, some animals are filled with energy, so they are let out to use the restroom, and then they get lots of play time! In both case animals have supervised outside time to keep them as safe as possible. House sitting - depending on you and your animals needs housesitting can look different for everyone. First and foremost, I am quite busy during the day, but I will never go longer than an eight hour away. However, I try to stop by at least every 4 to 6 hour during the day! Usually in the evenings I am home with them just as you would be if you were there. I try to stick to your animals normal routine as much as I am capable of! I leave your home just as I found it (or better) and love to leave some treat behind. At the end of the day I try to care for your animals as if you were there and to treat them as my own!

Information Jeanette R. would like to know about your pet

There are a few questions that I ask every pet parent when meeting them: Is your animal reactive in any sort of way? This could mean reactive to other dogs/cats, reactive to children, or or reactive to small animals, such as rabbits and squirrels. How does your animal show any signs of aggression? Do they have toy aggression? Do they have food aggression? How is your animal on leash? Do they pull? If the answer is yes to any of these questions that’s not a problem it just let me know how to better take care of your animals! How does your animal do with loud noises, fireworks and thunderstorms? Are they anxious? Do they have a special plan in place if these things occur? Are you, anyone in your family, or your animal allergic to anything? What are your house rules? And is your animals not allowed to do anything specific/not allowed anywhere specific? Do you leave music or TV on when you are not home for your animal? Do they like to play? fetch? tug-of-war? And do they have a favorite toy? Do they have a favorite spot to be petted? For cats in particular, how are they with being held/picked up? And finally, how will I be entering your home? garage? key? etc?

A typical day

A typical day for me is bouncing from multiple drop ins and walks, to classes and then back to drop ins and walks. This fills my day was lots of excitement and joy and I want to make sure your pet also experiences this. On walks, I love to take animals to parks, and if they are friendly allow them to meet people, children and other pets! At a drop in I love to play with animals, or if they are more of a couch potato to snuggle them. When housesitting I enjoy taking them to the dog park or on car rides and sometimes even taking them to Petco or Petsmart so they can pick it out a new toy!
