Hi all! I am a huge lover of dogs. In addition to my own dogs - right now I have Chicken, a scruffy little terrier - I have rescued, fostered, and provided dog care for over ten years. I have had dozens of fosters (including a litter of 8 puppies at once - never again!), all now in their forever homes! I currently volunteer with the large dogs at Oakland Animal Services. I I also have experience caring for gerbils, rats, and hamsters, if you have small pets!

Jean is the most loving & caring person I have ever met. She took care of my baby Baku for a week while I was traveling for work. She shared pictures of Baku with me while I was away, and they were having so much fun. I was envious that my Baku almost seemed happier with her than with me. She is very responsible & made sure that my Baku took his supplements with meals. I will always ask her to take care of my baby Baku whenever I need a pet sitter and anyone will be lucky to have Jean as their pet caretaker.
Jean is absolutely amazing with animals, and a very responsible human being in general. I met her and regularly interact with her at the dog park, and she always gives each and every dog love and attention. I can tell that they light up her day, and she lights theirs up in return. She is also very intuitive and communicates well with them. She cares for my dog Rusty as if he were her own, and I can tell that she really understands him and his needs. There are very few people I put complete trust in with Rusty, partly due to my own bad past experiences, and Jean is decidedly one of them. Extra plus is her dog Chicken, who is the sweetest, happiest, bestest little white scruffball.
Highly recommend Jean! She has been watching my 7-year old maltipoo, Knight. Knight is very attached to me and has a lot of anxiety so it’s difficult to find a trustworthy person to watch him. Jean is so patient and kind with him. She gives knight the space but also the attention that he needs. She provides updates and sends pictures which is so helpful. She’s responsive, responsible, and truly loves dog.

A typical day
I live right next to Lake Merrit, so I can take energetic dogs on a full 3.5 mile loop. For older or lazier dogs, we just do a smaller loop around Snow Park or Lake Chalet. The dogs can hang out with me while I work on the bed or couch or on the patio. Pups are welcome to sleep with me in bed, but I also have a large crate if your dog needs a little house!

I work from home. I generally have a few hour-long meetings pre day, so can talk dogs for shorter 10-15 min walks at breakfast, early afternoon, and night and longer walks (20-30 min) in the early evening.
