Companion Care Petsitting
Pet care experience
We have a lovely house in the country with a fenced b/y on 3 1/2 acres, and we are open to taking well behaved dogs. We are a mom and pop operation, have been petsitters for 17 years and have lots of experience and excellent references. Your pets will be taken care of almost 24/7 in our house. We also do petsitting at your home in Eugene OR and will do overnights at your home if you prefer that. We also do daily dog walks, and take care of cats as well. One thing to note: because of our agreement with our landlord we cannot take you down to the house for a visit. We meet people at the top of our very steep drive for our previsit with you. We are sorry about this but our landlord who likes his privacy gave us these parameters to work within. We like to let people know this up front because for some it is a deal-breaker. We have many return clients and have pictures of our house and b/y, and if you need references we will be happy to provide them. We are also seeking clients who would like a long term relationships. We take our job very seriously and put a lot of energy into establishing a good relationship with your animals. Dogs seem to really like the vibes of our house and property and settle down very quickly in our warm and earthy environment. Why I love dog sitting I've always loved dogs and cats, but was more bonded with cats. When I moved to Eugene OR I began working for a petsitter, and began my love affair with dogs. I am amazed that the depth of my love for animals continues to increase. I find dogs especially interesting because of the bond that is formed. I have one dog that has been trained to run beside bicycles, and I love to take him for rides in the country. I especially love to take my well behaved dogs off leash. There's nothing I like better to go for walks in the woods with my dogs. I feel like Diana, Queen of Beasts. About my yard We have a fenced backyard with a wire fence. It is pretty basic, meaning it's on the wild side, so it's an interesting place for dogs to sniff about. as well, it faces out onto the forest, so there is lots of interesting activity for dogs to watch. the back yard is a good size. not sure the dimensions but will think about it and get back to this. My experience administering medication Yes. I am also proficient at diabetic shots (usually for cats!).
Reviews
Jean was awesome and knew exactly how to take care of our aging dog. Total lifesaver. Great care and excellent communication with photos during our trip. Highly recommend.
Jean was wonderful! The dogs were well cared for and very well exercised when I picked them up. They were relaxed and happy which is always a wonderful sign. Jean was easy to work and communicate with.
My pets were well taken care of in their own home. I would use Jean again.
Jean was so fantastic! My dog has anxiety issues and Jean did a great job keeping her comfortable and keeping me informed. She was very professional and exhibited a lot of experience with dogs. Communication with Jean was easy and I always received a fast response, but what I appreciate even more is her compassion for my animal companion's physical and emotional well-being. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a safe and loving place for their companion to stay.

Information Jean G. would like to know about your pet
I like to know about his social behaviors. Is he good with other dogs? Does he or she like people, or children? What is his/her house behavior like? Can he/she be taken off leash? Right now I am in love with a breed called Lapphund. They are reindeer herding dogs from Lappland (Finland). They are not overbred (yet!) and have such intelligence, and also, are very self-entertaining. I love that.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks We have several places to walk the dogs around us. We are in the country, so along the road is nice. There is another road to the back of us that is lovely as well, and if the dog is good offleash, there is a country lane behind us that goes through some pastureland. As well, we are just a mile down the road from the Ridgeline trails, so that's another possibility. Your dog's sleeping arrangement If the dogs is quiet, he/she may sleep upstairs with us. Otherwise, the dog will sleep in our living room downstairs. Time I'll spend with your dog Because we are a husband and wife team, one of us is usually with the dogs 24/7. If we have to both go out, it is only for a couple of hours, and we would never do this until the dog felt a comfort with being alone in the house.
