I booked Jaz for a two week job to take care of my two cats. I'll start with the positives. Jaz was nice and friendly. My cats are normally shy but they started coming out of hiding about 5 days into the job which tells me they got good vibes from her. She took out my trash once a week and checked my mail which was nice. I definitely didn't hesitate to trust her with my house keys or garage code. What was not so good was that even though I did a paid meet and greet and also a paid trial day where I explained everything, Jaz did not sift the litter enough (I use pellet litter) which left the boxes full of sawdust and my cats peed and pooped outside of the box because they weren't clean enough for them. In addition, Jaz did not notice or clean up the pee and the poop that was outside of the box. The pee pads I had placed to protect the carpet around the litter boxes were yellow with cat pee but Jaz did not notice or throw them away. Also, as I said there was a pile of poop right by the boxes that Jaz did not notice or clean up. I paid for Jaz to come on the day that I was coming back specifically so that I could come back to clean boxes but instead there were two sets of poops (4 total) in the boxes as well as the pee and the poop and all of the sawdust that I mentioned. So I came home to a big mess. I went back and looked at the "rover card" photos that Jaz had been sending and the pee and poop beside the box had been there for multiple days. I honestly wasn't looking at the litter box photos that closely (I was just happy to see photos of my cats) and the mat they had pooped on was a dark background so I didn't notice in the photos but it is clearly there if you look and of course I noticed it immediately upon walking in. I honestly don't know how she could have possibly not noticed the pee and poop outside of the box. However, Jaz would literally spend less than 5 minutes at the house most days (I know from my garage door timestamps), which would have been fine if the details had been taken care of but unfortunately they weren't. To be clear, I told Jaz they didn't need to stay for the whole 30 minutes as I originally thought my cats would be freaked out by her being there anyway, but I did expect her to stay long enough to complete the job well. I also would have thought that once the cats started coming out she might stay a bit longer to pet them but as I said, it was less than 5 minutes she spent at the house each day. So all in all, I am grateful that my cats are alive and nothing really that terrible happened but I felt that I owed it to the Rover community to give an honest account of my experience. I did try to text Jaz directly about my disappointment but she basically just said "I"m sorry you feel that way and I guess I could have done better with the small details". So I can't say that I would recommend Jaz but also it was overall OK. I would definitely advise that you give very clear instructions and pay close attention to the photos being sent so that you can give any feedback in the moment if need be.
