Pet care experience
I've been the animal girl for my entire life. I've worked in a spay/neuter clinic for almost a year before they had to close. They taught me a lot about proper animal handling and how to read animal body language for both cats and dogs. Now, I work in pet retail and I'm constantly learning new tips and trick on enrichment, training, nutrition, and more! In my free time, you can catch me researching proper pet husbandry, dog training videos, and working with my own dog. I'm working on starting my own dog business and this is the first step! My dog and I also participate in dog sports, hike multiple times a week, have daily training sessions, and organize pack walks once a week with out other dog friends. In my family, I'm the first to call if there's ever an animal problem or someone needs a sitter or advice. I've made it my life goal to help people and their pets. Currently, I'd love to get experience working with other dogs, and providing them with a fun outing! I love hiking, walking, and being outside and can't wait to bring your pup with!

In my home, I have one very energetic Rough Collie, and 2 playful cats. They are on a daily schedule that we try to follow so they have structure and routine. It's great for all of us. I'm a rule follower, so in someone else's home, I'd prefer to have instructions and I will follow them to a T! Every pet is unique and deserves to be treated as such. When on our walks, I always carry a Pet Corrector to avoid off leash dogs. I always walk in public places that allow dogs and will have my phone on me at all times. My car has a seatbelt for all puppy passengers If you have any concerns, I'm more than willing to talk about it.

Please let me know if your dog has any food restrictions! I always have single/limited ingredient treats with me that I use to reward dogs. If your dog is reactive, I need a warning and the run-down on their triggers and behaviors. Please provide any muzzles or other safety gear needed. May refuse some dogs due to behavior. I do NOT walk aggressive dogs or any other dog that would be considered a public safety risk.
A typical day
I LOVE to hike and walk! My outings usually are at a wooded park where dogs can get the full experience of sniffs and exercise, and maybe even some swimming! If it's okay with the owner, I love to use my long line (30ft leash) so they can have the illusion of being off-leash, while actually still being fully in control of them, otherwise I have plenty of other shorter leashes to use. I usually try to practice basic obedience and recall on all of my walks as well so they can practice being a good dog in the real world. (I'm not a professional trainer, but I'm working towards that eventually, and have a good foundation to do the basics.) I have a herding ball in my car for soccer and a ball thrower! I can plan the perfect outting for any pup!

Availability
I currently work full time, but I'm free 7-11am or 4-9pm depending on the day. My schedule isn't set, but one of those time frames will be available daily. I am always willing to talk about scheduling and work something out! I am also willing to do visits before and after my shift.
