Pet care experience
I grew up having pets since I was born, including dogs, turtles, hamsters, guinea pigs and others. My daughters and I have taken care of our neighbors and friends dogs, and we have experience interacting with cats from my brothers and friends. We have only guinea pigs now, but my daughters are longing for any dog-sitting especially, so we have plenty of space, love and affection to spare, if needed.

This was my first Rover experience. Jason and his family were a wonderful host for my dog! My son was getting married and we needed a place for our dog for the weekend. We wanted him to be with a family that would give him attention and love. We picked the perfect family! Jason sent us pictures a few hours after we dropped off our dog. He was cuddling with the girls. We received pictures and a video throughout the weekend that gave me comfort knowing he was in the perfect place. I highly recommend Jason and his family. They will make your pet feel right at home.
Jason and his family took such great care of our beloved 10-year-old dog Ella while we were away! Communication and coordination were seamless. It was clear right away through pictures and videos Jason sent that Ella was feeling right at home and was so loved and well taken care of! We are so thankful to have found Jason and his family as they are clearly dedicated to doing such a great job taking care of pets. Will definitely be rebooking soon and would give 10 stars if I could! Thanks again, Jason and family!
I have always had confidence and peace of mind when Jason takes care of my dog, Sammy when we go away. I feel happy to know that Sammy gets frequent walks, is played with, and has the attention he needs. Jason shows the greatest care and responsibility for him.

I have a pet-friendly townhouse community that I live in. Safe, slow-moving cars, dog-walking areas with doggie bag stations, coupled with open grassy areas, and conveniently located near several close-by parks and even a dog park 10 minutes way. Other dogs are leashed in the community. If needed, your dog can be kept in our finished basement, with plenty of space to move around. In your home, if you prefer to have the dog walked nearby and/or caged at night, that will not be a problem.

Does your dog have any special needs or behaviors that I need to be aware of ahead of time? I prefer dogs that are hypoallergenic, as we are not sure if my wife is allergic to certain breeds of dogs that frequently shed, although that would not be prohibitive. Was your dog rescued from a shelter or were they previously abused before coming to you (in other words, is your dog(s) reluctant to trust new people)?
A typical day
We live in a townhouse community, with several courts and lots of sidewalks and walking trails. There is also a dog park near by that we can go to, as well as tracks and trails that are nearby or connected to community centers and libraries.

Availability
I am a teacher with my summers off. My daughters are in camps periodically, but we are largely staying local throughout the rest of the summer, and I have a number of house projects that will keep me based at home for most days.
