I view all dogs and cats (and animals in general) as individuals. They all have their own personalities that make them unique. That's something I appreciate and take into consideration with all of them. My last dog, Tofu, was a dog that my family and I rescued. He was abandoned in the middle of hurricane season. We had him for 10 years. The veterinarian estimated that he was already 6 to 8 years old when we took him in. It's been almost 3 years since he passed away of old age. During the same time, we had a cat that was in the beginning of renal failure at 11 to 12 years old. My family and I gave him transdermal injections of ringers lactate solution through an IV every other day to keep his fluid levels up. He was healthy another 3 years before he passed away. I currently have a 15 year old ragdoll cat who needed a good home when the previous owners had some family turmoil. She's in great health. She's just never been around dogs so she's afraid of them, thus why I don't personally have a dog right now. As you can see, I've had a lot of experience with older and ailing pets. In a lot of ways, I prefer the company of animals to people. They don't judge. They accept you for who you are and just want to be loved and cared for in return. This is what I strive to offer all animals that are in my care. I will care for your dog or cat (as well as your home, personal belongings, and everything else associated with the job) with the utmost respect that they deserve. My goal is that both you and your pets will be happy that you've chosen me to care for it.
