I'm a dog walker/caretaker because I genuinely love dogs. They are incredibly loyal, resilient and playful and I find these traits rub off on me! Because I don't currently have any dogs of my own, it affords me the opportunity to spend time with them. If your dog needs exercise or has a lot of energy to work off, I will take them out for a jog around the neighborhood or to a local park. I'll also play with them in a home setting, keeping them occupied with games and letting them work for treats. I understand that different dogs have different personalities and limitations and I'll make sure to cater my interaction with your dog based on his or her particular abilities and needs. Some dogs are shy and take a while before they're comfortable enough to trust you, while others are hyper social. One of the things I love about interacting with dogs is seeing them grow and developing a bond. I work full time Monday through Friday, but I'm generally available from 3:30 pm on during the week and I'm flexible during the weekends. My complex doesn't allow pets so pet sitting will have to be done at your place. Below is a brief history of my experience caring for dogs. I look forward to meeting yours! I cared for a family dog for almost 14 years. He was 100 pounds (half Black Lab half Golden Retriever). I provided all facets of care for him, including training, exercise, feeding and administering medication. I've been a volunteer dog walker/caregiver at the San Diego Humane Society for 5 years. I walk, help train and spend time with the dogs on the adoption floor. I've spent time with a great variety of breed including Pit Bulls, Great Danes, German Shepherds, lab mixes and many others, including smaller breeds. I periodically dog sit for a friend who has two dogs. I take them for walks, feed them and make sure they're cared for.
