I sadly lost my 13 year old Lab in November. Previously, I had a staffy who we also rescued in his later years. I’ve seen myself as a retirement home for dogs over the last 6 years rather than committing to a puppy. I’ve had dogs my whole life, from my first (a gorgeous German Shepard) to my lovely boxer/rotty and we constantly look after our families pets (a westie, beagle, Pom, golden retriever and dachshund) I absolutely love dogs. To me, they’re a part of the family and your dogs would have full access to our sofa and bed (if that fits with their routine) I have a nice size garden with a six foot fence and I am lucky enough to live 15 mins from the Peak District and love going on long walks then cuddling up on the sofa. I’d be happy to keep you updated with pictures or messages at all times, having been a dog parent for so long, I know how hard it is to leave your baby behind even for a lovely holiday. I’m not ready to have our own dog again due to some plans to move country (this isn’t for another 4 years but I don’t want to commit to another dog.. I couldn’t stand the thought of re-homing) Feel free to ask any questions!
