My first dog was a family dog we got when I was in 6th grade. She was a American Stafford-shire Terrier; otherwise known as a pit bull. While she is no longer with us, and I do not currently have a dog, I volunteered at the Whatcom Humane Society in Bellingham, WA from 2014 until 2017. My main volunteer responsibility was to walk dogs that were currently in the shelter awaiting adoption. Doing this has allowed me to work with a variety of dogs and gain experience with dogs that have high stress. This experience combined with a couple of classes I have took at Tails-A-Wagging (including a Canine Body Language class) has given me the skills and knowledge to properly care for dogs that are unfamiliar with me. Additionally, I am capable and comfortable of handling larger dogs. I am very easy going and calm in stressful situations which allows me to handle any issues that may arise. I would be happy to take care of your dog and home while you are away, both of which I will treat as if they were my own!
