Pet care experience
I’ve had animals since I was 7, a dog named Annie and a cat named Kitty. I love all animals and enjoy training, observing and genuinely loving them. I am currently helping my roommate train his new puppy so I’m getting lots of experience with younger animals at the moment!

I can’t say enough GREAT things about Jared watching our dog Darci. She’s is a labradoodle. Read: high maintenance, derpy, and a socially anxious. She went from being wary of Jared to snuggling with him by the end of the pet sitting. I would trust him with my needy dog any day or night. Jared is highly attentive, gives regular pet updates, and is gentle and kind with our temperamental doggo. Our go-to pet sitter when we are out of town, no doubt!
Jared has all of the qualities essential to being a great pet caregiver. He has a warmth and kind energy that animals pick up on immediately. Pets just always love him! And, the love goes both ways. He's gentle, but he can also be firm when he needs to be. Jared is also incredibly trustworthy. When you entrust him with your pet, it's like it becomes his own. He doesn't take that responsibility lightly.

When dog sitting, I care for pets by observing them for various needs. If I find them chewing on things they shouldn’t, I’ll give them a toy, if they’re near the door or see something interesting outside I’ll take them out so they can explore! I want animals to live their most authentic lives while lovingly enforcing training any owner has given. I’m a firm believer of freedom within guidelines. Happy dogs have rules! But I also love giving them the freedom to explore.

A typical day
I love taking them on adventures. Loose Park is a place I always take my dog, they love it! I love to let dogs run. I naturally have a lot of energy so the more energetic the better!

I am a grad student at UMKC, so while I have some nightly jobs, I definitely have multiple pockets of time during the day to take animals on walks and feed them.
